The main aim of the project was to foster the active participation of young people with fewer opportunities in democratic and social life, while strengthening their awareness of environmental and climate issues. We wanted to create a safe and stimulating space where participants could develop personal, social and civic competences through non-formal education methodologies and intercultural dialogue. The specific objectives were articulated across several dimensions and were pursued through an integrated approach: 1. Ecological awareness – to increase young people’s knowledge of the multiple dimensions of the ecological crisis, the impacts of urban environments and the connection between lifestyles and nature; 2. Active participation and community – to encourage young people to move beyond passivity and isolation, strengthening their sense of belonging and their role in building a more sustainable reality; 3. Personal development and strengths – to enhance self-confidence and self-efficacy, helping participants to identify and value their personal strengths and to approach both environmental and personal challenges with a positive attitude; 4. Active citizenship and proactive role – to promote active citizenship, encouraging young people to contribute with concrete initiatives in their communities and to become aware of decision-making processes at European level; 5. Knowledge of the effects of climate change – to provide a deeper understanding of climate change and its consequences, with a focus on the challenges particularly affecting young people in marginalised situations, fostering adaptation strategies and active participation in mitigation; 6. Networking and international exchange – to foster the creation of positive social networks and a shared European perspective, through the exchange of experiences, knowledge and good practices among peers from different contexts. In summary, the project aimed to strengthen young people’s capacity to become aware, critical and active citizens, capable of imagining and implementing sustainable alternatives in their own life contexts.
