By implementing the project, we aim to encourage the active participation of group leaders and young people by developing and implementing workshops based on non-formal education methods. The objectives the project aims to achieve are the following to encourage young people to take an active role in the use and creation of information to develop or improve media literacy and critical thinking, to promote active citizenship and the importance of taking part in the political life of one's own country and the European Union by informing oneself consciously promoting interculturality and teamwork to increase the autonomy and proactivity of young people in their communities. The project aims to understand today's phenomena related to the dissemination of false information, which is easily spread and shared thanks to the characteristics of the media on which it circulates: social networks, websites and messaging applications. Today, media literacy and digital skills are necessary for almost every aspect of life, from socialisation to work and European citizenship. Young people must develop these skills because more and more people are both creators and consumers of content. It is a project aimed at young people (18-27 years old) who are interested, motivated and able to propose activities and to share and exchange experiences, on the topic of media management, and access to the Internet for information research and content creation. Fake news and disinformation have a significant impact on individual and social daily life, starting with people's perception of themselves and the world around them. Objectives: To educate young people to research news sources and carry out fact-checking. To share different techniques to learn how to create verified and fact-checked online content. To develop participants' decision-making autonomy and critical thinking, making them more aware of the language and discourse used in mass and social media. Motivate young people to participate in the creation of media content actively, keeping them curious and critical. To explore the realities of the different participating countries regarding mis/disinformation, fact-checking and youth-led initiatives to counteract it. Analysing the negative effects mis/disinformation can create in the daily lives of young people.
