The 'Nature, Nurture, Culture' project responded to the urgent need to counteract the marginalisation and isolation experienced by young people, especially following the Covid-19 period. The main objective was to create a safe space to encourage socialisation, social inclusion and European citizenship in an intercultural environment, starting from individuals to create authentic connections among young participants. The project aimed to create a concrete opportunity for young people to use practical tools through the regeneration of the outdoor spaces of the Muladhara premises with social gardens, Mediterranean plants and accessible, sustainable gardens. We adopted the principles of Social Agriculture as a means to create synergies by designing a balanced ecosystem, made of connections and based on respect for nature and human systems. At the knowledge level, the project aimed to increase participants' awareness of the individual within a community, providing them with at least five non-formal methods to connect and cooperate with others, turning them into promoters of peer integration. During the activities, young people were encouraged to work in groups, becoming protagonists and acquiring new tools to create sustainable ecosystems as a way to promote cooperation and inclusion, thus developing the necessary skills. By participating in all planned actions, young people had the opportunity to increase self-esteem and self-confidence, becoming more aware of their own talents through personal expression, discovering their attitudes, skills and talents, thereby working on attitudes. All practical activities helped participants express themselves, participate freely in an open space, giving them the opportunity to design gardens, be creative using natural materials and discover the importance of protecting our Planet. The project promoted intercultural dialogue and non-formal learning among young people, developed skills and attitudes, strengthened European values by breaking down prejudices and stereotypes in our communities, and raised awareness on socially relevant issues, encouraging engagement in society and active participation in democratic life.
