In Europe, the transition to adulthood for young people is increasingly complex and protracted, particularly for those facing geographical and socio-economic barriers. These individuals often encounter additional hurdles in accessing meaningful educational opportunities, which are vital for their authentic exploration of emotions, desires, and personal and professional growth. Such opportunities enable them to resist societal pressures that prescribe predetermined paths. Recognizing the pivotal role of youth workers, partner organizations are committed to empowering them with innovative tools to support disadvantaged youth during this critical phase. The project aims to equip youth workers with attitudes, knowledge, and competencies rooted in nature-based, ecocentric, and soulcentric educational approaches, drawing from Bill Plotkin's Human Development Model. These approaches, including Rewilding and Rites of Passage, are tailored to guide youth through their journey to adulthood. Additionally, the project will integrate sustainable consciousness and community engagement as essential components. This integration will facilitate the implementation of innovative, high-quality, and impactful youth work at the local, regional, national, and European levels, ultimately fostering not only individual development but also the prosperity of communities and territories, and the preservation of the environment.
