By implementing the Youth4Future project, we aimed to empower young people to become more aware, active, and responsible members of their communities who understand the importance of sustainable living and their role in shaping the future. The project was focused on youth work practice and was based on non-formal education and the use of art as a learning tool. One of the main objectives of the project was to raise young people’s awareness of environmental protection, sustainable lifestyles, and climate change. In an international and intercultural environment, participants discussed these topics, shared their experiences, and explored how these issues affect different countries and communities. This helped them understand that sustainability challenges are shared and require collective action. Another important objective was to create a safe space for young people to explore themselves through art and creative activities. Using non-formal education methods, the project encouraged self-expression, creativity, and critical thinking, while allowing participants to actively engage in activities based on their interests and abilities. The project also aimed to strengthen participants’ social and personal competences. Young people developed communication, cooperation, self-confidence, self-expression, and reflection skills. Through teamwork and group activities, they learned to respect different opinions, overcome personal fears, and work effectively with others. Finally, the project encouraged young people to become active agents of change. Participants were motivated to apply the knowledge and experience gained during the project in their daily lives and to share it within their local communities. In this way, the project contributed to the long-term engagement of young people in building a more sustainable, responsible, and creative society.
