The main aim of our project “Climate Guardians: Youth Workers for a Cleaner Tomorrow” was to address key environmental challenges—especially climate change and pollution—by empowering and educating youth workers while promoting their professional development. In this project, we aimed to strengthen youth work practices and enhance the role of youth workers in promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and community engagement. Our objectives were closely aligned with both the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, youth workers mobility (KA153) and the broader goals of youth work. With this project, we specifically aimed to: Helping youth workers to increase awareness about the impacts of climate change and pollution, and acquiring skills to teach what they learned to young people they work with. Raising awareness among youth workers and young people about the local and global impacts of climate change and pollution. Empowering youth workers with tools, knowledge, and confidence to take active roles in promoting environmental action through education, advocacy, and community involvement. Helping youth workers to develop practical skills related to sustainability, such as recycling, energy conservation, and adopting eco-friendly lifestyles and habits. Promoting interdisciplinary learning, integrating scientific, social, and cultural perspectives-knowledge into environmental education. Encouraging cross-cultural exchange by bringing together youth workers from different countries to share experiences and best practices with their peers. Promoting community engagement and responsibility through environmental campaigns, workshops and awareness raising events. Providing advocacy training to increase participants' potential to communicate effectively with decision-makers on environmental policies and helping them to influence them through their future work. Supporting youth leadership by involving participants in planning, implementation, and follow-up of the project activities and the project process. Building networks of youth workers and environmental advocates for possible continued collaboration across countries. Ensuring long-term sustainability by encouraging follow-up initiatives and potentially establishing youth-led environmental groups. Promote evaluation, self-analysis and reflection to enhance future youth work in environmental fields. Through this project we implemented, we strived to create a meaningful and lasting contribution to environmental education and youth workers’ empowerment while enhancing the competencies of youth workers to address global challenges and environmental problems.
