LAAA wanted to achieve several strategic goals, aimed at both strengthening the capacity of the organization and the development of the entire sector. The main task of the initiative was to create a Landscape Sustainability Competence Hub, which would provide expertise with up-to-date knowledge about green skills and the integration of sustainability in the environment, and within the framework of this project, LAAA working groups competencies have been strengthened.
The Association of Latvian Landscape Architects (LAAA) was founded in 1995 and is the only national-level professional organization in the field of landscape architecture in Latvia. LAAA is a full member of the most important European professional organizations, such as IFLA Europe, ELCA and ELASA, as well as IFLAWorld . The organization's main areas of activity include promoting knowledge and technical competence in the field, delegating experts, organizing experience exchange and conferences.
