Objectives

By implementing this project, we wanted to support young people in becoming more conscious, active and resilient members of democratic society. The project was designed as part of our Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation and aimed to contribute to the strategic objectives of our approved Activity Plan through three complementary international mobility activities. Each activity addressed a different priority area, while together they supported the broader aim of strengthening young people’s capacity to understand current social challenges and respond to them through informed, responsible and active participation. One of the main objectives was to strengthen young people’s digital resilience and ability to use digital tools safely, critically and meaningfully. Through the activity “My On(the)line”, we wanted participants to reflect on their digital identity, online self-expression, media literacy, digital habits and the impact of online environments on mental well-being. The aim was not to present digital life as something negative, but to help young people use digital spaces more intentionally, including as tools for self-expression, awareness-raising and civic engagement. Another objective was to promote environmental awareness and sustainable everyday choices. Through the activity “Sustain You”, we wanted to help young people understand sustainability as something practical, creative and connected to their daily lives. The activity focused on conscious consumption, reuse of materials, recycling, sustainable fashion, emotional sustainability and small actions that can contribute to climate-conscious living. This supported our accreditation objective related to climate and environmental neutrality. The third objective was to strengthen democratic participation, civic engagement and young people’s understanding of security and resilience in democratic societies. Through the training course “Fortifying the North”, we wanted to explore how young people, youth organisations and NGOs can contribute to democratic resilience, especially in the context of hybrid threats, disinformation and attacks on democratic institutions. The activity supported participants in understanding democracy not only as a political system, but also as something that requires informed, active and responsible citizens. Overall, the project aimed to create learning spaces where young people could develop knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant for their personal lives, their organisations and their communities. Across all activities, we also aimed to strengthen intercultural learning, critical thinking, communication, cooperation, self-reflection and initiative-taking. The project was therefore not only about gaining knowledge on specific topics, but also about helping participants see how they can use this knowledge in practice and contribute to positive change around them.
