With this project we carried out, we aimed to draw attention to the deep humanitarian crises experienced by individuals who were forced to leave their countries due to reasons such as war, oppression, discrimination, and forced displacement. We aimed to reveal that forced migration is not merely a relocation process, but also a multi-layered trauma process in which individuals face numerous physical, psychological, and social challenges. Focusing especially on young people, we aimed to bring a more realistic, empathetic, and highly aware perspective on the lives of refugees. We wanted to make visible that refugees struggle with many issues not only during their migration journeys but also in the countries they arrive in, ranging from shelter to education, from health services to social exclusion. In this context, we took action believing that it is possible to build a more sensitive, more conscious, and more responsible society with the active participation of young people. In this direction, the main goals we aimed to achieve within the scope of our project are as follows: Our Project Goals Creating Awareness in Society About the Refugee Reality: We aimed to reach large audiences by producing informative and impactful content to ensure a better public understanding of the traumas and difficulties experienced by refugees. Ensuring the Understanding of the Challenges Faced by Refugees: Through workshops, group work, and interactive sessions organized during the project, we enabled participants to witness more closely the difficulties faced by refugees. Developing a Sense of Volunteering and Responsibility in Youth: We aimed to strengthen the sense of social responsibility among young people participating in the project by actively involving them in processes that produce solutions to social problems. Reducing Prejudices Against Refugees: By creating environments for intercultural interaction, we aimed to dismantle false perceptions and stereotypes about refugees and to develop an empathy-based approach. Ensuring the Inclusion of Youth with Fewer Opportunities: By ensuring the participation of socio-economically disadvantaged youth in the project, we both implemented the principle of equal opportunity and provided these young people with an international experience. Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and Breaking Down Stereotypes: By enabling interaction among individuals from different cultures through joint activities, we strengthened an environment of mutual understanding and tolerance. Increasing the Awareness of the Erasmus+ Program and Youthpass Certificate: By providing participants with information about the Erasmus+ program, we introduced opportunities at the European level and enabled them to document their acquired competencies with Youthpass. Shedding Light on the Challenges Faced by Refugees: At every stage of the project, we aimed to raise awareness among both participants and the local community by drawing attention to fundamental issues faced by refugees such as shelter, security, health, and education. Through the activities we implemented in line with these goals, we succeeded not only in creating individual awareness but also in sparking social change and contributing to the construction of a fairer and more inclusive society.
