Objectives

The project foresees a professional development activity (PDA) over 8 days (including 2 travelling days) that will bring together 30 youth worker participants from 10 organizations from 10 countries, namely Latvia, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, France, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia. In addition, one experienced trainer, one qualified facilitator, and one administrator will be involved to ensure high quality and smooth running of the mobility. This PDA will focus on tackling several intersectional issues of sustainability through conflict transformation. This will be achieved through a compact and innovative training course designed for youth workers to equip them with innovative competences to tackle youth-relevant sustainability challenges through a transformative mindset. Our choice of the conflict transformation approach is because the sustainable development goals sixteenth and seventeenth emphasize the place of peace, security, unity and partnership in achieving sustainable development in any society. According to SUNDAY D. OSAAT (2019, p.4) peace and conflict transformation education is the key to sustainable development (http://tinyurl.com/23v66aae). The project aims to: 1. Deepen understanding of sustainable development goals and their various dimensions such as social, economic, and environmental. 2. Increase understanding of the dynamics of sustainable development challenges and conflicts. 3. Equip participants with effective strategies for managing and resolving conflicts and challenges affecting sustainable development. 4. Foster problem-solving skills to build youth-focused community-driven initiatives for sustainable development. 5. Promote critical reflection on the roles of sustainable development challenges and strategies for their transformation. 6. Implement conflict transformation as a tool for fostering sustainable development. 7. Advance knowledge of non-violent methods for sustainable development and social transformation. 8. Boost competencies in civic engagement as catalysts for grassroots-level social change. 9. Develop a comprehensive online resource library to support the sustained project’s impact.
