Promoting gender equality

Objectives

Our project was carried out in a way to address the professional lives of women and their roles in society. In this context, the social duties imposed on women in their social lives prevent them from taking part in administrative and political fields. First of all, it was thought that it was necessary to refute this logic and that the newly created equal order should be accepted by societies and the issue was addressed within this framework. We wanted to implement our project by thinking that this idea should be spread to societies from different countries. The social duties imposed on all women in all societies devalue women, prevent women from entering professional and political life and cause their qualifications to be underestimated. However, it has been emphasised in our project that social roles are not only valid for women, that these duties and roles should be carried out with an equal distribution, especially within the family, and that it should not be forgotten that this equality will provide a healthier structuring. In this context, the objectives of our project are determined as follows: - To ensure that social and gender roles are questioned in a society-specific way, - To make intellectual enquiries about the roles of women in professional and social life, - To ensure that it is recognised that the family should be handled as a whole and that women should not bear all the responsibility in the family, - To support the development of women in socio-cultural, professional and political fields, - To create a social awareness about social roles, - To support the formulation of policies to ensure equal opportunities for women - in particular to support women in managerial roles, - To explain the necessity of taking measures against gender pay inequality in employment, - To provide statistical data and ensure the promotion of an education mobility programme, especially for girls' education, - To enable women to find themselves through activities that will increase their self-confidence, - To ensure the development of youth workers both individually and in terms of the young people they train, - To carry out activities to support the achievement of social equality instead of these social roles, especially within the scope of young people raised by future generations, - To enable women to develop empathy for the problems they face at every point of society, - To support the professional and personal development of youth workers, - To support the language development of youth workers, - To ensure that participants are included in the scope of participation in democratic life and social/global problems, - To develop intercultural awareness by combating prejudices. Our project was developed and realised in line with these objectives.
