Objectives

The overall aim of our project was to empower young people by addressing two of the priorities of the Erasmus+ program and The EU Youth Goals: Fostering active youth participation in democratic life and Promoting sustainable green practices. Through the implementation of our activities, we wanted to create opportunities for young people to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to become active citizens and agents of change in their communities, while also raising awareness and encouraging practical approaches towards environmental sustainability. One of the primary objectives was to enhance the capacity of youth workers and young individuals to actively engage in democratic processes and decision-making. With the training course on “Fostering Quality Youth Participation”, we aimed to create a space where youth workers could explore the importance of youth engagement in civic and political life, understand the mechanisms of democratic participation, and reflect on the challenges young people face in making their voices heard. We wanted to encourage young people not only to become more aware of their rights and responsibilities as citizens, but also to actively contribute to shaping policies and initiatives at the local, national, and European level. Our intention was to provide tools and methods that would help youth workers, leaders, and participants to foster inclusive, representative, and effective youth participation. The second main objective of the project was linked to environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Through the training course on “The EcoCoach: Guiding the Youth Toward Sustainable Entrepreneurship”, we wanted to promote eco-friendly practices and highlight the importance of sustainable entrepreneurship among young people. Our goal was to inspire participants to integrate environmental thinking into their personal and professional lives, and to motivate them to develop projects or business ideas that combine economic opportunities with eco-responsibility. By doing so, we aimed to build the capacity of young people to contribute to the European Green Deal goals and to take ownership of their role in combating climate change and environmental degradation. In addition to these thematic objectives, the project had a strong educational and intercultural dimension. We wanted to provide participants with non-formal learning experiences that would foster teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and intercultural dialogue. By bringing together young people from different backgrounds, we sought to promote tolerance, mutual respect, and European solidarity. The project also aimed to support youth workers and organizations in developing innovative approaches to youth participation and sustainability, thus ensuring a long-term impact beyond the immediate activities. In summary, the objectives of the project were: To empower young people to actively participate in democratic life and strengthen their role in shaping policies and decisions that affect them. To raise awareness and build competencies on sustainable practices, with a focus on eco-entrepreneurship and environmental responsibility. To promote the EU Youth Goals by linking young people’s needs and aspirations with European priorities such as participation and sustainability. To foster intercultural dialogue, solidarity, and mutual understanding among young people from different cultural and social contexts. To provide youth workers and organizations with tools, methods, and inspiration for improving the quality and impact of youth work in the fields of participation and sustainability. By implementing this project, we aimed to inspire young people to become proactive leaders in their communities, who are both socially responsible and environmentally conscious, thus contributing to building a more democratic, sustainable, and inclusive Europe.
