The youth exchange program "GreenPACT: Nurturing Sustainability in Every Stride" was organized by the Siggiewi Local Council. The programme brought together young people to explore, learn, and collaborate for a sustainable future, with a focus on the environment, climate change, the European Green Deal, and the circular economy. The project, which was supported by the Siggiewi Local Council, aimed to educate young people about the importance of sustainability and proper waste management. It sought to promote awareness of the connection between humanity and nature through highly creative and interactive activities. Furthermore, it intended to support entrepreneurship in sectors such as sustainable tourism, the circular economy, and green professions. The project aimed to achieve the following objectives: - Encouraged participants to analyze complex environmental issues, assess the effects of policy actions, and engage in informed debates on sustainability and climate change to foster critical thinking abilities. The project facilitated participants' ability to apply knowledge by involving them in practical activities and action planning. It motivated them to create and implement initiatives and programmes addressing environmental issues at local, state, or federal levels in Europe. - Encouraged the formation of a fundamental culture of sustainable development in young people, helping them behave responsibly towards the environment, which they viewed as both a naturalistic and anthropological legacy, and supporting its preservation and restoration if degraded. - Took measures that encouraged communal cohesion and environmental sustainability. - Enabled young people to adopt respectful attitudes towards others, with a focus on intercultural dialogue, full respect for others' habits and customs, promoting solidarity, mutual respect, and collaboration, and helping to overcome stereotypes and prejudices. It also aimed to develop cooperation between participants from ethnic groups facing different daily realities. - Encouraged youth mobility throughout Europe and supported involvement in environmental volunteer programmes through the Erasmus Plus programme and related initiatives. - Promoted the use of participatory approaches and non-formal education as powerful means of disseminating the principles of integration and active engagement. Through non-formal education strategies that guided youths towards developing a responsible and environmentally conscious mindset, all of the scheduled activities aimed to accomplish the goal of promoting the culture of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling.
