Objectives

Our team began Diverse Horizons with a clear purpose: we wanted to bring youth together from different countries and cultures to break down stereotypes and build mutual understanding. We recognized how harmful prejudice and judgments can be, and we knew that giving youth a chance to really get to know each other would help replace those stereotypes with friendship and respect. We wanted youth to see each other as human beings, not as labels, and to appreciate the rich diversity of history, culture, and beliefs each person carries. With our project, we aimed to fight intolerance with personal contact and education – creating a warm and cozy space where participants were able to share their stories, challenge their preconceptions, and learn from one another. We worked actively to foster cross-cultural understanding and encourage every participant to express themselves and listen openly to others. With this, we hoped to increase empathy, critical thinking, and the courage to stand up against prejudice in our participants’ everyday lives. Inspiring active citizenship was one of our main objectives. We wanted to equip youth with the tools and confidence to participate in their communities and make a positive difference. That meant encouraging their creativity, leadership, and sense of initiative. We encouraged participants to take the lead in activities, voice their ideas, and work together on solutions to common challenges. We aimed they would return home feeling empowered to engage in civic life – whether it’s organizing local projects, promoting tolerance on social media, or simply volunteering in their neighborhood. We were especially focused about reaching those who might not usually have such opportunities. We made sure that everyone – regardless of gender, race, religion, ability or background – felt valued and supported from start to finish. Our consortium set out to create a project, and networking – one that lives the Erasmus+ values of unity in diversity, solidarity, and youth empowerment every day. Our objectives were: Broaden the understanding of young people regarding diversity: history, culture, religion. Promote the active participation of youth in civic life and foster their creative expression through the encouragement of Erasmus+ opportunities. Unite young people from various backgrounds, nations and cultures. Educate youth from various nations on the importance of respecting diverse viewpoints and challenging stereotypes through active participation. Encourage the development of connections between EU and non-EU countries, creating a platform that fosters friendships and relationships through the appreciation and promotion of art and culture. Promote cross-cultural education and dialogue among participants from diverse nations, aiming to enhance mutual understanding and foster tolerance. Each partner joined Diverse Horizons with a shared commitment to youth empowerment, inclusion, and cross-cultural understanding. We all aimed to give young people the tools, space, and confidence to grow—both personally and socially. We wanted to connect youth from different countries and backgrounds, encourage open-mindedness, and break down stereotypes through real human interaction. Together, we focused on promoting tolerance, strengthening civic values, and helping participants develop leadership, creativity, and teamwork skills. For many partners, this project also was a way to support those who often feel excluded— with different reasons to social, economic, or cultural barriers. We worked to create a welcoming environment where every voice mattered and every participant could feel seen, valued, and inspired to make a difference in their communities.
