Our country, the Netherlands, which hosting significant number of migrants including rising risks of racism and discrimination. Recognizing the need for awareness and empathy, we have implemented a youth mobility event in the Netherlands between 5-14 August 2024, gathered 36 participants to discuss refugee crisis, promote empathy, encourage action for positive integration practices, and develop critical thinking on refugee issues through theater. The project sought to empower youth to understand and evaluate European refugee policies, emphasizing informed perspectives and their impact on individuals and communities. By implementing the project, the overarching goal was to catalyze meaningful change in the attitudes, behaviors, and engagement levels of young people regarding refugee issues in participating communities. Through immersive experiences such as the forum theatre method, participants gained firsthand insights into the struggles and aspirations of refugees, thereby cultivating a more compassionate worldview. By providing platforms for dialogue, collaboration, and hands-on involvement, the event inspired participants to take ownership of these challenges and drive change within their communities. Through workshops, discussions, and volunteer opportunities, the project ignited a sense of agency and responsibility, encouraging young people to become catalysts for positive social impact. The event fostered empathy and awareness among young people by helping them understand the challenges faced by refugees. Activities such as the forum theatre method provided participants with insight into the struggles of refugees, leading to a more empathetic outlook on societal issues.
