We aimed to engage, connect and empower 55 young people from vulnerable areas in The Hague and Utrecht to become active citizens promoting a healthy lifestyle. In these areas residents are less healthy compared to other areas/cities. Decision-makers seek collaboration with youth to improve their health. Youngsters in these areas want to be heard and seen. We brought these 2 groups together, activating the youngsters: Master Your Life! Sub-objectives The participants were to: - grow in personal development, self-esteem and improve their mindset; -raise awareness about the advantages of a healthy lifestyle and the negative effect of social media on mental health; -get the broader perspective based Doughnut Economics; -promote value-driven action; -better understand local policies, and connect with decision-makers; -bridge the trust gap; - master their lifestyle through implementing community projects; - learn how to use their voice and give their opinion; - create perspective.
