Objectives

After the last 2 years of international work placements, we see a tendency towards increased interest in taking professional qualifications. The last 2 years, all requesting for apprenticeship achieved it. In general, the students say they are more motivated when the option for a stay abroad. With increasing motivation, we see a tendency towards a higher grade level. Interest in equine subjects has increased, and the school year 2023/24 there were more applications for the line than places.

Background

The main motivation for applying is to offer students as good a learning outcome as possible. Previously deployed students say that they have had a good learning outcome from the practice. International work placement gives students an insight into working life and an experience we cannot offer them in Norway. Being able to offer international work placements, shows that it is possible to make a living from equine management. This motivates to take vocational training.
