Background

We applied responding to urgent environmental challenges, and particularly the fashion industry's devastating ecological impact. Our upper secondary students in vocational and general studies lacked practical sustainability skills and environmental awareness needed for possible green economy careers. Key identified needs: - Students required hands-on experience transforming waste into resources through redesigning and upcycling - Enhanced educational offerings integrating sustainable design into curricula - International cooperation exposing our Arctic-located school to global perspectives - Innovative teaching methods incorporating digital competence and creative approaches - Career preparation for emerging sustainable fashion industries The project addresses European Green Deal objectives, fostering green skills among youth while building transnational networks. Geographic contrasts between Bardufoss and Athens provide unique cultural exchange opportunities, strengthening European identity through shared environmental challenges. Our motivation centers on preparing environmentally conscious citizens capable of informed consumption decisions, contributing to sustainable future development.
