Objectives

The primary goal of the project was to develop intercultural bridge-builders, equipping youth with the ability to overcome linguistic, social, humanitarian, and economic barriers. By fostering mutual understanding and collaboration, the project aimed to prepare participants to actively contribute to more inclusive and integrated communities, with a particular focus on supporting the integration of refugees and newcomers. This included creating spaces for dialogue, shared experiences, and mutual learning to help participants understand and address the challenges of integration while promoting social cohesion and belonging. Key Objectives Fostering Intercultural Awareness: Create opportunities for participants to explore and appreciate cultural diversity while challenging stereotypes. Promote an understanding of shared values and the importance of respect and empathy in intercultural interactions. Encouraging Communication and Collaboration: Develop participants' skills in communicating effectively across language and cultural divides. Facilitate activities that build trust, teamwork, and the ability to work collaboratively in diverse settings. Supporting Integration Efforts: Provide a platform for exploring the complexities of integration and the role young people can play in supporting inclusion. Highlight the contributions of refugee youth and the importance of building welcoming communities. Promoting Social Belonging: Create a safe and inclusive environment where all participants feel valued and connected. Use shared experiences to strengthen bonds between individuals from different backgrounds, fostering a sense of solidarity. Raising Awareness of Global Challenges: Deepen participants' understanding of key global issues, such as migration, social inequality, and democracy. Encourage reflection on how these issues impact individuals and communities, particularly focusing on the experiences of refugees and third-culture youth. Developing Leadership and Agency: Encourage participants to take initiative and embrace leadership roles within their peer groups and communities. Equip youth with the confidence and skills to advocate for inclusion, equality, and social change. Building Sustainable Connections: Facilitate the formation of lasting relationships and networks that transcend borders and cultural differences. Encourage participants to maintain these connections and collaborate on future initiatives. Broader Vision The project aspired to cultivate a generation of youth who act as agents of change, capable of breaking down barriers and fostering mutual respect and understanding across cultures. By emphasizing themes of inclusion, democracy, and solidarity, the project aimed to empower participants to contribute meaningfully to their local and global communities, paving the way for a more integrated and cohesive society.
