Objectives

The aim of the project was to further strengthen the awareness of young people and youth workers regarding the proper preparation and implementation of activities within the Erasmus+ programme, based on our experience and methods of non-formal education. We placed particular emphasis on promoting valuable partnerships, engaging young people we work with on a daily basis, and avoiding the participation of individuals treating the programme in a touristic way. This process was carried out together with young volunteers who already had experience and could share it both with their peers and with youth workers. By building on the continuity of our cooperation with young people and partners, we gave volunteers greater responsibility in creating and implementing activities. As a result, youth exchanges could better respond to their needs, while the volunteer group itself expanded. The Erasmus+ accreditation opened up many new opportunities in this regard. Another goal was to strengthen long-term international partnerships and develop activities within the Imaginary Realms network of theatre game enthusiasts by creating a space for exchanging experiences and jointly developing new initiatives. At the same time, we sought to extend cooperation to areas of Europe and beyond where we had not yet been active, in order to establish valuable contacts and broaden the reach of the network. An important element was also the preparation of activities aimed at strengthening the significance and dissemination of youth debates as a working method – both in projects run by our organisation and in the practice of our partners. A key part of the project was also supporting partner organisations and improving the quality of their work by developing and implementing non-formal education methods applied in our activities. We used, among others, theatre games, youth debates, Living History Lessons and the Living Library in order to raise the quality of activities and more frequently combine non-formal and formal education, also through our cooperation with partner schools. Within the Erasmus+ accreditation, we also planned to establish an annual training course focused on developing and passing on the best theatrical methods to young people and our partners. An important aspect was the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, particularly those from rural areas and small towns, so as to equalise their chances of participating in international activities. We also aimed to improve communication and cooperation with the Polish National Agency of the Erasmus+ programme, as in previous years we had encountered difficulties resulting from poor-quality cooperation with the officer supervising our accreditation, which hindered the implementation of our activities. Our intention was also to create a space in which young people and youth workers could develop creativity, social and intercultural competences, and learn consciously through experience. We wanted to support participants in discovering their own potential, developing teamwork and critical thinking skills, as well as shaping an active citizenship attitude.
