Objectives

The aim of the project was to continue the long-term development of the Projekt Tarnów Association as a youth organization and to enhance the quality and sustainability of its non-formal educational activities. The project constituted the next stage in the implementation of the Erasmus+ accreditation KA150-YOU, focusing on the Programme’s priorities: social inclusion, sustainable development, youth participation in democratic life, and the development of key competences. The core objective of the project was to enable young people from Poland and partner countries to gain international experience, develop social, civic, and intercultural skills, and increase their awareness of climate change and sustainable lifestyles. The youth exchanges “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” and “Go Take Action” were designed as two complementary activities with distinct thematic focuses: the first centered on fostering pro-environmental attitudes and promoting a healthy lifestyle, while the second emphasized youth social engagement and the development of leadership and civic competences. Both activities were united by the idea of responsible participation in social life, environmental awareness, and the strengthening of European identity. The project also had an important institutional dimension, contributing to the consolidation of the Association’s position as a stable and professional youth organization with an international reach. It aimed to further expand its network of foreign partners, increase the number of members and volunteers, and strengthen the competencies of the coordination team in youth work and Erasmus+ project management. The activities implemented within the project built upon and extended the Association’s previous experience, consistently applying the Erasmus+ Quality Standards in the youth sector. The specific objectives of the project included: supporting the personal and social development of young people through non-formal education; fostering ecological and social awareness in line with the European Green Deal; promoting healthy lifestyles, mental well-being, and physical activity; developing communication, digital, and leadership competences; building intercultural dialogue and counteracting stereotypes; involving young people with fewer opportunities in international activities; strengthening international cooperation in the youth sector. The project also contributed to the implementation of the European Youth Goals, particularly: “Connecting EU with Youth” – by creating a shared sense of European community through joint action; “Sustainable Green Europe” – through environmental education and eco-friendly initiatives; “Mental Health and Well-being” – through physical activity, group integration, and teamwork; “Space and Participation for All” – by creating a safe environment for dialogue and cooperation. On a practical level, the project led to the development of participants’ competences, the establishment of lasting international partnerships, and the strengthening of the organization’s capacity in youth work. The achievement of these objectives enabled full utilization of the Erasmus+ accreditation potential and reinforced the impact of Projekt Tarnów both locally and at the European level.
