Objectives

The primary objective of this project was to systemically elevate the quality, innovation, and relevance of youth work by equipping educators with advanced game-based learning methodologies and ethical digital tools, while fostering long-term international collaboration and peer learning. Driven by the evolving needs of non-formal education, the project was designed to achieve four core strategic objectives: 1. Mastery of Game-Based & Edularp Methodologies: To equip youth workers with high-level competencies in educational larp (edularp) design, narrative mechanics, immersive storytelling, debriefing structures, and psychological safety standards (opt-out protocols and emotional wellbeing). 2. Critical & Ethical Digital Innovation: To address the growing, often mindless consumption of AI tools in education. Our goal was to demystify AI, explore its ethical implications, and teach youth workers how to responsibly use generative AI as a creative co-pilot in educational game prototyping. 3. International Peer Exchange & Strategic Networking: To facilitate cross-border methodology exchange, enabling youth work organizations to mutual-test, adapt, and refine their educational games through direct feedback and shared practice (including adapting international game formats to local regional contexts). 4. Empowerment and Snowball Dissemination: To build a self-sustaining international network of active facilitators who directly translate learning into local impact—organizing community events, school workshops, and NGO initiatives across Małopolska, Europe, and partner regions. The Quality Framework (The Nausika Standard) Achieving these ambitious goals was ensured by three operational pillars: - Rigorous Experiential Methodology: Blending game theory with rapid prototyping, robust emotional safety frameworks, and deep process reflection. - Specialized Consortium Expertise: Combining senior trainers with targeted partner roles (Selkie for wellbeing, Beit Bayut and Ukrainian partners for risk/logistics, Zavod Erea for digital community management). - Meticulous Selection & Mentored Follow-up: Recruiting active youth workers who received structured post-mobility mentorship to implement local follow-ups.
