During the current accreditation period, our goal was to continue and further develop the principles set out in our Erasmus Plan and the objectives defined in our accreditation. Through the implementation of two Polish-Lithuanian youth exchanges, involving a total of 55 participants, we aimed to support intercultural integration, develop key competences of young people, and promote European values – openness, dialogue, and cooperation. The project was directly linked to our strategic objectives, such as promoting social inclusion and diversity, fostering participants’ personal growth, improving the quality of youth work, building international partnerships, and increasing the visibility of the Erasmus+ Programme. Our intention was to enable young people, through active participation in various activities, to gain knowledge about the European Union and its values, learn cooperation, planning, responsibility, and mutual understanding. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of soft skills – teamwork, communication, public speaking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving. This allowed participants to develop not only knowledge but also the attitudes necessary for their future professional and social lives. The exchanges encouraged collaboration in an international environment, improvement of language skills, and the use of non-formal learning methods based on experience, action, and reflection. All activities had a practical character – participants prepared presentations, videos, educational games, posters, and short speeches that helped consolidate knowledge and overcome language barriers. During meetings, workshops, and city games, participants had the opportunity to learn more about their own and their partners’ countries, their history and traditions, and to realize that cultural differences can be a source of inspiration and cooperation. All participants belonged to the group of young people with fewer opportunities, coming from rural areas of Poland and Lithuania. However, due to the nature of the activities and the experience of our Foundation’s team, there was no need to request additional inclusion support. No extra financial resources were required, as appropriate preparation and assistance were ensured within the standard organization of the exchanges. Another important goal of the project was to strengthen the competences of our staff and improve the quality of activities carried out by the Foundation. Each exchange was an opportunity to test and refine non-formal education methods and to introduce innovative forms of youth work. The project also contributed to the development of cooperation with two partner organizations from Lithuania, with which our team prepared new joint initiatives in a spirit of partnership and mutual trust. Thanks to the implementation of the project, participants broadened their horizons, gained new experiences and skills, and most importantly – felt part of the European community. The project supported the personal and social development of young people, strengthened their sense of belonging to Europe, and made them aware that each of them can influence the future of their communities. Our activities are aligned with the long-term goals of our accreditation, including the priorities “Inclusive Societies”, “Connecting EU with Youth”, and “Space and Participation for All.”
