The “Together with Music” project was implemented in response to the growing problem of hate speech, which was affecting interpersonal relationships both online and in social life. The idea for the project emerged during discussions held in international youth groups on the Zoom platform. Participants analyzed the destructive impact of hate speech, particularly in the context of local communities, where ethnic and racial minorities were often unfairly judged. The main goal of the project was to develop effective methods and techniques to counteract hate speech and to promote attitudes based on solidarity, respect for diversity, and tolerance. A key element of the activities was the education and engagement of youth from Poland, Latvia, and Lithuania. Through music – a universal language of communication – participants sought to reach a wide audience, including those spreading hate, conveying positive values and ideas. The young participants, often associated with music clubs, created original songs and music videos addressing the issue of hate speech. This process nurtured their artistic talents and helped them overcome barriers in public speaking and social interactions. The project also had an inclusive dimension – blind and visually impaired youth took part, and, thanks to collaboration with partner organizations experienced in working with people with disabilities, this strengthened social awareness and promoted social inclusion. An important outcome of the project was the fostering of intercultural dialogue, the development of civic competencies, and the countering of stereotypes. The project culminated in a concert and a debate with experts on combating troll farms and online disinformation. The project served not only as a tool for developing youth skills but also as a platform for creating lasting international partnerships. Through music, participants broke down social barriers and inspired their communities to actively combat hate speech. The implementation of the project fully aligned with the goals of the Erasmus+ program and, in a creative way consistent with the principles of non-formal education, supported civic engagement, youth involvement, and international cooperation.
