Objectives

The aim of the project was to promote non-formal education and modern methods of working with young people, as well as to support social activity through various educational initiatives, volunteering, and international cooperation. Since the beginning of our organisation’s activities, we have been committed to creating valuable projects that contribute to the development of young people and to supporting youth leaders and those working with youth, such as volunteers, mentors, youth workers, and teachers. The project aimed to use international cooperation to enhance the quality of this support. Despite our many years of experience, we wanted to continue developing, as non-formal education plays a key role in youth development. It enables young people to acquire practical skills, expand their competences in various fields, and learn responsibility and cooperation. We also wanted to give them the opportunity to better understand other cultures as well as their own roots. Originally, the project planned to organise four international trainings in 2025. However, due to the size of the granted budget, we had to adjust our plans and carried out two trainings instead. The entire budget was used according to the assumptions and allowed us to maintain a high quality of activities while focusing on the needs of participants and partners. The project’s objectives remained in line with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019–2027, which includes supporting the active participation of young people at the local, regional, national, and international levels. We wanted the participants of the trainings to gain tools for self-development and for taking responsibility for their own lives. The project also aimed to promote openness to others, courage in action, cross-border cooperation, and the strengthening of organisational capacity through the exchange of good practices, the implementation of new methods, and joint learning at a high level. The challenges identified during work with partners on the accreditation plan were addressed through the two international trainings organised in 2025 within the Erasmus+ accreditation. The trainings responded to difficulties related to leadership development as well as the low level of social competences among young people, identified in project evaluations and in discussions with partners. The first challenge concerned strengthening leadership in organisations and shifting management styles from authoritarian to more participatory and coaching-oriented. Thanks to our trainings, based on active learning methods, participants were able to explore the principles of effective leadership, develop dialogue skills with their teams, and discover their own potential in leading groups. The use of D. Kolb’s cycle made it possible to move from experience to reflection and then to the practical application of acquired knowledge. The trainings engaged participants through games, simulations, multimedia tools, and both group and individual tasks, which supported the active acquisition of new competences. As a result, leaders—both experienced and aspiring—learned how to better engage members of their organisations, leading to reduced conflicts and increased involvement. The second challenge was related to the low level of social competences. The trainings focused on developing soft skills such as teamwork, interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, as well as planning and vision-building. Thanks to their dynamic and interactive format, participants not only gained valuable experience but also actively engaged in the learning process, which increased the effectiveness of the trainings. In this way, in 2025 we managed to address the needs of both organisations and young people, as well as those working with youth, supporting their development and strengthening the potential of civil society.
