The aim of the project “All About Social Skills” was to strengthen the social, emotional, and interpersonal competences of young people from Poland, Lithuania, and Croatia through joint educational and integrative activities in an international environment. The project had a bottom-up character – it was initiated by young people themselves, who recognized the need to develop social skills, communication, empathy, and cooperation after a period of isolation caused by the pandemic and remote learning. The main objective of the project was to create a space for learning through experience, mutual inspiration, and the exchange of ideas among participants from three countries. Through workshops, discussions, games, role-playing, brainstorming sessions, and group reflection, the participants were able to develop their social competences such as effective verbal and non-verbal communication, teamwork, empathy, assertiveness, and conflict resolution skills. The project also aimed to strengthen participants’ self-confidence and emotional self-awareness – young people learned to recognize and express emotions, accept themselves, and appreciate their own strengths. Through joint activities in international groups, participants developed attitudes of openness, tolerance, and understanding towards different cultures and viewpoints. Another important goal of the project was to develop intercultural skills and a sense of belonging to the European community. The meeting of youth from Poland, Lithuania, and Croatia helped to break down stereotypes, build intercultural dialogue, and strengthen bonds among young Europeans. Participants could see that despite cultural differences, they share many common values such as empathy, cooperation, mutual respect, and a desire for personal growth. The project also aimed to enhance language competences and motivation to learn. Daily communication in English and cooperation in international teams helped participants overcome language barriers and build confidence in interpersonal communication. In summary, through the implementation of the “All About Social Skills” project, we aimed to: 1. Develop participants’ social competences, including effective communication and teamwork in an international environment. 2. Increase young people’s social self-awareness. 3. Improve the quality of interpersonal relationships – both in school and in interactions with peers, teachers, friends, and family. 4. Strengthen self-confidence and a positive self-image, helping participants discover and appreciate their strengths. 5. Facilitate better emotional regulation and the ability to recognize and express personal feelings. 6. Develop conflict resolution skills in social situations. 7. Reinforce tolerance, empathy, and openness toward other people and different cultures. 8. Enhance language competences, particularly communication in English. 9. Promote international and intercultural integration. 10. Increase motivation to build human connections, communicate openly, and engage in social and civic activities. For the Foundation Institute of Work and Career (FIPiK), the project was also an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation with the Lithuanian organization Tavo Europa and a new partner from Croatia – Mladi za Marof. Joint implementation of the project with two partners aimed to enhance the organizational capacity of FIPiK, broaden its experience in coordinating international projects, and establish a solid foundation for long-term cooperation in the field of youth education.
