The project "Time for Water" was initiated as a grassroots effort by young people from Poland, Lithuania, and Romania who recognized the importance of water-related issues, including shortages, sanitation conditions, and environmental concerns. Therefore, after receiving information from the youth that they were seeking support for the implementation of the initiative, we decided to provide assistance and became the applying and hosting organization. The project's goal was to offer participants the opportunity to enhance their cultural, social, and linguistic competencies, as well as their understanding of the main theme. A key focus was strengthening young people's pro-ecological attitudes, promoting a sustainable approach to environmental issues, and expanding their knowledge of water and sanitation concerns. Through this project, the youth aimed to raise public awareness about water scarcity, inadequate hygiene and sanitation conditions in different countries, and to develop actions that would contribute to increased social consciousness on these issues. Therefore, the main objectives of the "Time for Water" project were: – the opportunity for participants to learn about the cultures, traditions, and customs of the participating countries and to strengthen their cultural competencies; – increasing participants' knowledge of water scarcity and sanitation issues in the participating countries and other countries worldwide; – enhancing participants' self-esteem and strengthening their social, interpersonal, linguistic, and artistic skills; – reinforcing the sense of being a European citizen and fostering attitudes of tolerance and openness; – establishing international connections, friendships, and meeting interesting and inspiring individuals; – increasing creativity and a more innovative approach to life and action; – discovering common values among participants. Regarding the partner organizations, the project's aim was to establish international cooperation between the three countries: Poland, Lithuania, and Romania, and to strengthen the ability to implement EU projects. An added value of the project was the increase in cultural competencies among the partners. The project allowed for the achievement of the intended goals both for the participants and the participating organizations.
