The main goal and objectives of the ‘Young Explorers of the Digital Jungle’ project, as defined at the application form and overall planning stage, were as follows: General goal: To increase the knowledge, skills and awareness of project participants regarding the opportunities and threats associated with the use of digital tools, modern technologies, social media and the internet. To support among participants the attitudes and competences necessary for the effective and safe use of broadly understood ‘information technology’ and new technologies to achieve their educational, life and professional aspirations, and to effectively mitigate the risks associated with these tools and technologies. Specific objectives: - increasing participants' competence in the conscious use of digital tools and new technologies in achieving their life and educational goals, - increasing participants' resilience and assertiveness in the face of negative phenomena such as social media and information addiction, cyberbullying, hate speech and fake news, - developing knowledge and skills in the conscious use of digital devices and new technologies, safely for ourselves and with respect for the rights and dignity of others, developing critical thinking and information analysis skills, - increasing civic and social inclusion and activity and developing participants' interpersonal skills by supporting the conscious use of our free time both online and in the ‘real’ world, - developing experience and skills related to project planning, preparation and implementation, as well as international cooperation, increasing the interculturalism and socialisation of participants.
