Our project aimed to tackle environmental challenges by combining sustainability education with creative expression. The core objectives were to raise awareness about waste management, teach upcycling techniques, and inspire youth to actively participate in environmental protection while fostering intercultural dialogue and European values. We wanted to demonstrate that waste is not merely refused but a resource for creativity and positive change. During the implementation, these objectives were successfully achieved and expanded. Participants learned about the impact of improper waste disposal and gained hands-on experience in transforming discarded materials into useful and artistic items. We organized a series of practical workshops where participants created toys, sculptures, and mosaics from non-biodegradable waste. These creations were first showcased in an event co-hosted with the Krosno Youth Centre and a local upcycling artist, Piotr Burger, engaging local youth, including those from disadvantaged rural areas and youth from Dom Dziecka w Długiem im. Janusza Korczaka. This interactive event not only promoted environmental responsibility but also encouraged social inclusion through art. A major highlight was the visit to MPGK Krosno, the city’s recycling center, where participants observed waste treatment processes and innovative municipal strategies for sustainability. This experience deepened their understanding of large-scale waste management systems and inspired further creativity in upcycling. The results of our artistic work were exhibited at MPGK’s Education Point, a space dedicated to environmental education for schools and kindergartens. This permanent display now serves as a tool to teach young visitors about upcycling and its role in protecting the planet, ensuring that our project continues to inspire long after its conclusion. We also initiated the “Green Week” campaign as a long-term follow-up. This initiative, co-developed by participants and partner organizations, aims to bring environmental education into schools through creative, hands-on activities. The first edition is scheduled for November 2025 and will become an annual event across multiple countries, amplifying our impact at a European level. An unexpected but valuable outcome was the creation of AI-generated videos promoting environmental awareness. Using tools such as Sora, Kling, InVideoAI, SoundRaw, and FakeYou, participants produced short videos combining strong ecological messages with creative visuals and sound design. These videos have been shared on social media and will be incorporated into future Green Week campaigns, expanding the reach of our educational efforts. Through these actions, we achieved our objectives of empowering youth, strengthening cooperation among partners, and making environmental awareness both practical and creative. The project fostered key competences like teamwork, digital literacy, and sustainable thinking, leaving a lasting impact on participants and their communities.
