Objectives

In the project "Challenges of Young People in the Labor Market in the European Union", we aimed to raise awareness among young people, especially those with limited opportunities, about the mechanisms of the labor market in the European Union and ways to increase their competitive advantage in the job market. We also wanted to provide participants with tools to enforce their rights in the workplace, particularly in the context of implementing the EU directive on work-life balance. Upon completing the project, participants had more attractive professional profiles for future employers, gained greater knowledge of non-formal education, and acquired skills for effectively building their personal brand on social media. Additionally, they learned about various tools supporting their further development in the labor market. The project was an exceptional opportunity for young people to understand how the European labor market operates. Participants in the youth exchange were able to search for interesting job offers that matched their skills and education both in their home country and across the European Union. They gained knowledge about labor market mechanisms and learned about the similarities and differences between labor markets in EU member states. They were provided with information on how the European Union supports young people in the labor market (working in EU institutions, internships, business grants). Together, they considered mechanisms that could improve the position of people with disabilities and those with limited opportunities in the European labor market. A discussion also took place on the level of wage inequality between men and women and access to the labor market for both genders.
