The project “Modern Technology = A Better Life” was initiated by young people who recognized the need to develop their digital and social competences in the context of a rapidly changing technological reality. Interested in modern solutions, including the practical use of artificial intelligence, the youth decided to join forces during a shared mobility in order to broaden their knowledge and skills, and later share them with others. In particular, they were eager to raise social awareness about the opportunities offered by digital tools and AI. This initiative stemmed from their commitment and the desire to act on a European level – both through the development of technological competences and by strengthening their language and intercultural skills. In response to the expressed need for organizational support, the youth turned to our organization, KMT, for help in preparing and implementing the project. As a result, we established cooperation with partners from Romania and initially Kosovo, however, in the end, the partner from Kosovo withdrew from the project, which was reported to the National Agency, and an amendment to the agreement was signed. With the approval of the NA, a new partner from Ukraine was engaged in the project. Joint online meetings and teleconferences enabled the young people to develop a common vision of activities and laid a solid foundation for the successful implementation of the international exchange. The project aimed to create a space for young people to develop their competences in the field of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, as well as to demonstrate how these tools can genuinely improve the quality of life. Our goal was not only to increase participants’ knowledge about the applications of AI and digital tools, but also to enhance their social, linguistic, and intercultural skills in an international environment. The project focused on combining digital education with an intercultural dimension – young people from Poland, Ukraine, and Romania worked together as an integrated team, learning cross-border cooperation, exchanging experiences, and exploring the cultural diversity of Europe. The project also sought to strengthen attitudes of openness, tolerance, and intercultural dialogue, while building a sense of belonging to the wider European community. The objectives of the project included: -Developing digital skills; -Expanding knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI); -Creating a compilation of areas where AI is applied; -Exploring the culture, traditions, and customs of different countries; -Preparing a summary of commonly used modern technologies; -Strengthening self-esteem and developing interpersonal, social, and language competences; -Fostering a sense of belonging to the European community and promoting tolerance and openness; -Inspiring further personal growth through participation in non-formal education; -Building international relations and friendships, and meeting inspiring people; -Developing creativity and a more innovative approach to life; -Discovering shared values and ideals. We wanted the project to serve as an inspiration for young people to actively use technology in everyday life and to undertake social initiatives with its support. An additional aim was to enable partner organizations to gain new experiences in the field of digital education and to strengthen their capacity to implement youth projects, which in turn allows them to better respond to young people’s needs in the future and to cooperate more effectively with international partners.
