Objectives

The project aimed to develop key competencies among young people from Poland, Romania, and Türkiye, with particular emphasis on soft skills, creative thinking, and entrepreneurial attitudes. In an era of dynamic social and technological changes, young people increasingly need not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills that will allow them to navigate the labour market, collaborate in diverse environments, and take initiative. The project responded to these needs by creating a space for experiential learning, teamwork, and self-awareness development. The main goal of the project was to strengthen participants’ ability to shape their own future by developing competencies such as communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, action planning, idea presentation, and collaboration in an international group. By working toward these goals, participants were expected to gain not only practical tools but also self-confidence, openness, and flexibility in approaching new challenges. The specific objectives included: • developing soft skills essential for effective communication, teamwork, and relationship-building; • promoting creativity and entrepreneurship through workshops such as “Startup” and “Design Thinking – Design Your Future”; • strengthening intercultural awareness and the value of European cooperation; • building a sense of agency among young people from smaller towns and disadvantaged backgrounds; • fostering ecological and pro-social attitudes in line with the principles of sustainable development. The project also had a social and educational dimension. Through joint artistic activities, integration games, workshop sessions, and a local happening, young people learned that cultural, linguistic, and experiential diversity is an asset rather than a barrier. Shared experiences in an international environment helped build empathy, tolerance, and understanding for others. In the long term, the project sought to encourage participating youth to become more active in their communities—initiating local actions, developing their passions, and taking responsibility for their own growth. “Skills for the Future” was intended to inspire young people to think about the future in a creative, conscious, and responsible way—not as something that simply “happens,” but as a process they can co-create.
