The result of joint work of young people from Poland and Latvia was the project “Like on the Internet, only fair play”. Project activities were based on the cooperation of two partner groups, which resulted in the preparation of a youth exchange in Murzasichle. The project involved 44 people - 22 from Poland and 22 from Latvia (20 participants and 2 leaders from each country). The main theme of the project was the problem of excessive use of virtual reality. We wanted to encourage young people to have face-to-face contact, to go outside, to live an active lifestyle. We also drew attention to the amount of hegemony that comes with being on the Internet. We showed how to deal with hejt, how to distinguish opinion from criticism and from hejt. We presented the problem of depression among young people caused by online bullying. We were aware of this, which is why we undertook this project, which also aimed to develop our social, linguistic, organizational and artistic skills, and to discuss the challenges of young people in the modern world. Personal development was also important to us - how to learn not to hate others and to be more empathetic. Besides, living in Europe at that time requires us to be tolerant of each other and respect each other's cultures, so through the implementation of this project we tried to break down intercultural barriers and eliminate mutual prejudice, which was also a common cause of depression in young people. The main objectives of our project were as follows: - developing ourselves on the topic outlined above, - learning how to help people who have experienced hejt in their lives, - to make our peers aware of the problem of online heist and the consequences that followed, - introducing our peers to the consequences of excessive use of the Internet, - working out ways to limit the time spent on the Internet.
