Objectives

The aim of the project was to strengthen the educational and care potential of the boarding school and to improve the quality of support offered to its residents by developing staff competences and implementing modern solutions used in working with young people. The project responded to the identified needs of the organisation, primarily related to the necessity of adapting working methods to the changing social, educational, and developmental challenges faced by young people. One of the main objectives was to enhance the professional competences of educators and the management staff of the boarding school through non-formal education in a similar institution in another European country. Participants had the opportunity to learn about new educational approaches, solutions in the field of psychosocial support for young people, and ways of organising leisure time that foster the development of independence, responsibility, and social competences among residents. An important goal of the project was also to strengthen staff competences in working with young people with diverse needs, including those at risk of social exclusion or experiencing adaptation, emotional, or educational difficulties. Particular emphasis was placed on developing skills in building relationships, supporting mental well-being, and creating a safe and development-friendly environment. The project also included the development of the language competences of the boarding school staff, enabling more effective communication in an international environment, the use of foreign materials and good practices, and the establishment of sustainable partnerships. At the same time, digital competences were developed, allowing the use of modern tools in work organisation, communication, and the implementation of educational activities. Another objective was to enrich the boarding school’s offer for its residents by introducing inspiring forms of leisure activities, as well as integrative, pro-social, and intercultural initiatives. These activities aimed to increase young people’s engagement, develop their interests, and foster attitudes of openness, tolerance, and responsibility. The project also contributed to strengthening the European dimension of the boarding school’s operation through cooperation with foreign organisations and the exchange of experience and good practices. This broadened the perspectives of the staff and enabled the implementation of proven solutions in the everyday work of the institution. The long-term goal of the project was to improve the overall quality of the organisation’s work by implementing innovation, developing staff competences, and fostering openness to change. The project contributed to increasing the attractiveness of the boarding school as a place that provides not only accommodation, but also educational support, personal development opportunities, and a safe environment for young people. Overall, the project aimed at the comprehensive development of the boarding school by investing in staff competences, improving the quality of educational and care activities, and creating an environment conducive to the holistic development of residents, in response to the challenges of the modern world.
