The main objective of the project was to create an innovative educational and artistic tool – the game entitled "Do we still have time?" – designed to engage participants in understanding the complexity of contemporary migration and how it is perceived. The game was intended not only to initiate conversations about the causes of migration, but also to encourage reflection on the impact of environmental changes on human mobility. Another important goal was to create a space for encounter and mutual learning among people from different cultural, social, and generational backgrounds. The project supported intergenerational and intercultural integration and contributed to building a sense of community based on cooperation, respect, and dialogue. The activities fostered empathy towards the experiences of migrants and refugees and encouraged participants to explore migration from multiple perspectives, including the lens of mobility justice. At the same time, the project strengthened participants’ competencies in creativity, communication, collaboration, artistic expression, and active engagement in social life.
The project was developed in response to the need to create spaces for encounter within culturally diverse local communities in Bologna and Warsaw. It addressed the lack of accessible, informal educational tools for migrant and refugee communities, as well as host communities, that would enable conversations about migration and climate change in an empathetic and creative way. For us, it was essential to build events that bring together people from different generations and backgrounds, and to develop an engaging method of working with adults based on artistic practices and collective reflection. A key element was also the involvement of participants in the co-creation of the educational tool. The project responded to the need for a deeper understanding of contemporary migration processes, including their causes and consequences. It fostered attitudes of openness, cooperation, and solidarity in the face of current social challenges in Europe. An important component was the reflection on climate migration and the search for ways to respond to environmental crises.
