The main objective of the project was to increase the level of environmental awareness among students, teachers, and parents through the implementation of educational activities related to sustainable development, environmental protection, and responsible consumption. The specific objectives included: - developing students’ key competences, particularly language, digital, and social competences, - strengthening teamwork skills in an international environment, - fostering responsible attitudes towards the natural environment, - enhancing teachers’ competences in the field of environmental education and project-based learning, - implementing European good practices related to the concept of sustainable schools, - promoting the idea of zero waste and responsible resource management, - strengthening international cooperation between partner schools, - increasing the involvement of the school community and the local environment in pro-environmental activities. The project also contributed to strengthening the organisational capacity of participating schools in the implementation and management of international educational projects.
The project was developed in response to the need for systematic development of students’ and teachers’ competences in the field of environmental education, sustainable development, and responsible social attitudes in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme and the objectives of the European Green Deal. An important motivation for implementing the project was the need to introduce coherent, long-term, and practical environmental education activities in partner schools that go beyond standard curriculum content and enable students to learn through experience, cooperation, and active participation in project activities. The project also addressed the need to strengthen key competences of students, particularly language, digital, social, and civic competences, as well as competences related to international cooperation and teamwork. A significant element of the project was the exchange of good practices between partner schools from different European countries and strengthening the institutional capacity of participating schools in implementing the concepts of “eco-school”, “sustainable school” and "zero waste". The project also responded to the need to increase environmental awareness within local communities.
