The main objective of the project was to promote sustainable behaviours and environmental responsibility among students by addressing key topics such as climate change, resource management, recycling, and responsible consumption. In line with EU priorities, the project supported the development of green skills and prepared students for more conscious and responsible participation in society. Specific objectives included increasing the environmental awareness of 48 students, developing key competences such as teamwork, digital skills, intercultural communication, and problem-solving, as well as strengthening active citizenship. The project also supported the professional development of 32 teachers through the exchange of good practices and the implementation of innovative teaching methods. Another important objective was to ensure equal participation for students from disadvantaged backgrounds and to build sustainable international cooperation among partner organisations.
The project was developed in response to the urgent need to raise environmental awareness among students and promote sustainable lifestyles in line with European climate priorities. A needs analysis conducted among approximately 150 students revealed significant gaps in knowledge and daily habits: over 75% of students were unaware of how their everyday actions affected the environment, 80% did not use recycling systems properly, and 85% did not pay sufficient attention to saving energy and water. In addition, 20% of students came from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and some participants had limited access to international and environmental education opportunities. The project directly involved 48 students and 32 teachers (80 participants in total), while also indirectly reaching parents, local municipalities, and non-governmental organisations. Through international cooperation, the project addressed the need for practical environmental education, the development of key competences, and the strengthening of active citizenship and responsible social behaviour.
