Objectives

By implementing the project, we aimed to improve the quality of preschool education in Poland and Latvia by introducing modern didactic and organizational solutions, with particular emphasis on ecological education. A key objective was to strengthen the competences of at least 12 teachers who, through the exchange of experiences and transnational cooperation, had the opportunity to learn new teaching methods and apply them in their institutions. We sought to develop and test innovative lesson plans, including those based on learning through play with LEGO bricks, to help children build pro-ecological attitudes, creativity, and curiosity about the world. Another goal was to enhance intercultural integration – both among teachers and preschool children – through learning about the traditions and culture of the foreign partner. As a result, the project was designed to create lasting conditions for enriching the educational offer, raising the prestige of the institutions, and providing children with a modern, inspiring, and development-friendly educational environment.

Background

The project was developed in response to the growing needs of kindergartens and teachers in terms of improving the quality of education and enriching it with modern pro-ecological elements. In the face of dynamic changes in the education system and increasing parental awareness, it became necessary to implement attractive and innovative teaching solutions that respond both to the needs of children and the expectations of parents. Teachers often lack sufficient time to independently prepare modern lesson plans, which is why the project focused on jointly creating and testing ready-to-use educational tools. Another important challenge was the need to shape pro-ecological attitudes among the youngest children and to foster their social and intercultural competences. The project aimed to support teachers in acquiring new skills, strengthen the prestige of kindergartens within their local communities, and provide children with attractive, innovative, and future-oriented teaching methods adapted to contemporary challenges.
