The main goal was to equip students with competencies that would allow them to navigate a changing world. Understand the mechanisms of nature, climate change, and threats, and explain difficult concepts and phenomena in an accessible and engaging way using non-traditional teaching methods. Strengthen and develop students' agency. Through creating songs and works of art, students became active creators of messages. Engaging students, including those from disadvantaged groups, in international activities strengthened their development, discovering their talents and passions that might have remained undiscovered in traditional teaching. For the teaching staff, the goal was to break down barriers between subjects and teach holistically. Implement interdisciplinary projects recommended in current teaching. Develop and test new tools (scripts, guides) that enhance the teaching process and build better relationships with students. Collaboration with partners aimed to build a European identity: Understanding that climate protection is a shared challenge that requires solidarity across borders. The goal was to exchange good practices and create universal educational materials.
We applied for Erasmus+ funding because we believe that climate challenges don't violate borders. The collaboration between Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Croatia, and Turkey was a response to the exchange of intercultural experiences, corresponding to teachers who understand that climate change is global, the effects are often local, and that the best solutions emerge from dialogue and the sharing of diverse perspectives. We applied for the project to enable the transformative power of art (music, theater, technical arts) as a tool for empowerment. Essentially, art allows students to express their "I can do something organic," which is crucial for their mental health and social well-being, and to activate their activities in an interdisciplinary environment. We addressed the gap in the teaching staff's competences regarding the division of various fields of knowledge and science (interdisciplinarity). The project became a space where teachers teach, like environmental studies with music, visual art, photography, and theater.
