Objectives

The project was designed to strengthen youth work on two complementary levels. On one side, it focused on the professional growth of youth workers, offering them concrete and practical tools that could be used directly in their everyday practice. On the other, it created meaningful opportunities for young people to express themselves, to reflect critically on issues such as inclusion and diversity, and to take active roles in their own communities. To achieve this balance, the project was organised into three main activities: DIVE IN, ART ID, and STAGE4ALL. Each activity had its own clear objectives, but together they formed a coherent whole aimed at improving both professional youth work practice and direct youth participation. DIVE IN – Diversity, Inclusion and Versatility for Innovation in Youth Work DIVE IN was developed as a professional development activity with a very clear focus: to expand creativity and innovation in youth work. This was achieved by introducing and practising methods such as divergent thinking, design thinking, storytelling, and gamification. The main goal was to provide youth workers with practical skills and approaches that could help them encourage critical thinking and foster greater engagement among the young people they support. The activity also created a strong platform for intercultural exchange and collaboration. By bringing together professionals from different countries, DIVE IN allowed participants to share good practices, reflect on challenges, and build professional networks that would remain useful well beyond the project itself. A further objective was to secure long-term and sustainable impact by encouraging leadership and strengthening competences in communication and project management. Youth workers were not only given space to learn new tools but also to grow as leaders who can guide young people in their communities. Finally, DIVE IN promoted intercultural understanding through activities that highlighted and celebrated diversity. These sessions helped professionals to see inclusion not as an abstract concept, but as a value that can be translated into everyday youth work through concrete actions. ART ID – Art as a Tool for Inclusion and Diversity in Youth Work ART ID placed art at the centre of the discussion on youth work and inclusion. The activity aimed to show how artistic approaches can be used to respond to the challenges of diversity, exclusion, and participation. The objective was to develop adaptable and innovative practices that could help create genuinely inclusive environments for young people from very different backgrounds. The programme provided participants with direct, hands-on experience of artistic tools and methods. Youth workers were encouraged to use these tools not only for creativity, but as ways of empowering young people to think critically and express themselves in authentic and creative forms. In this way, art became a vehicle for both reflection and participation. Intercultural collaboration was a key element. ART ID created space for exchanging perspectives and methods across countries, allowing youth workers to see how different contexts approach the same challenges. It supported the design of meaningful art-based projects that addressed real difficulties faced by young people in daily life. Importantly, ART ID also celebrated diversity and inclusion by cultivating spaces where every voice could be heard and respected, regardless of origin or background. STAGE4ALL – A Stage for All: uniting youth for inclusion and equity STAGE4ALL was the youth exchange element of the project, designed specifically for young participants. The exchange used drama, storytelling, and media as its main tools. These approaches encouraged creativity and self-expression and allowed participants to address questions of inclusion and diversity in ways that were both personal and powerful. The youth exchange aimed to raise awareness and stimulate critical reflection on issues such as discrimination, stereotypes, and social inequality. It also sought to empower young people to take active roles in building inclusive communities by encouraging direct contact with the local context and community life. Through collaborative creation, participants developed stronger skills in teamwork, communication, and intercultural dialogue. Another important objective of STAGE4ALL was to support youth-led initiatives. By working with digital media and dissemination, young people were able to develop competences that helped them share their messages and experiences more widely, reaching audiences beyond the project group itself. Taken together, these three activities achieved the project’s objectives of promoting inclusion, creativity, professional development, intercultural understanding, and active citizenship. The project created long-lasting value by ensuring that both youth workers and young people gained new skills and stronger networks.
