Objectives

The main objective of the project was to promote the empowerment of young people and youth workers in the field of civic participation and the quality of youth projects, by creating a space for experimentation, learning and networking. We aimed to provide participants with practical tools and applied knowledge that would allow them to develop ideas with real impact in their communities, fostering initiative, European cooperation and active citizenship. The project had two main dimensions: a Youth Exchange (“The Project Lab – From Idea to Impact”) and a Partnership Building Activity (“PartnerUP”). The main objectives of the Youth Exchange were: a) To stimulate the active participation of young people in social and community change processes; b) To develop competences in critical thinking, peer collaboration and project planning; c) To support participants in formulating project ideas with a positive impact on their communities; d) To promote knowledge of the Erasmus+ programme and the available tools for youth at European level (such as Youthpass and youth participation activities); e) To foster diversity, inclusion, and intercultural respect in a safe and collaborative environment. Over 5 days, young people from different European countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Estonia) engaged in a non-formal learning journey, moving from needs identification to the definition of concrete project ideas. Through participatory methodologies, group sessions, simulation games, creative dynamics, plenary presentations, and individual and collective reflection moments were carried out. Each participant had the opportunity to take on the role of solution designer, actively shaping the actions they would like to see implemented. The main objective of the “PartnerUP” activity was to support youth workers and organisational representatives in building strong and sustainable partnerships for future Erasmus+ applications, particularly in the areas of youth participation and transnational initiatives. This component aimed to: a) Strengthen the competences of youth workers in the design, implementation and evaluation of European projects; b) Create links between organisations with diverse experience but shared interests and target groups; c) Work practically on project ideas that had been previously developed but not yet implemented; d) Promote the exchange of good practices and tools in youth work, especially in contexts of low participation; e) Develop a shared vision of the impact and quality of Erasmus+ projects. This second activity allowed for the deepening of ideas, planning of future collaborations, and strengthening of institutional quality. The sessions focused on building trust between partners, identifying Erasmus+ opportunities, sharing concrete experiences, and co-creating project. In a transversal manner, the project aimed to contribute to: a) The recognition of young people as agents of social change; b) The promotion of inclusion and diversity in youth projects; c) The enhancement of youth participation, with a focus on local, regional, national and European contexts; d) The strengthening of the role of organisations as platforms for learning and European citizenship. By implementing this project, we aimed to create a fertile ecosystem of learning, creativity, and cooperation among young people and youth workers, with concrete medium and long-term outcomes: project ideas transformed into Erasmus+ applications, lasting partnerships between organisations, and young people who are more aware of their role in building more participatory, inclusive, and democratic communities.
