Objectives

With the implementation of this project, we wanted to actively contribute to the well-being and mental health of young people and professionals working with youth. Through training, intercultural experiences, and the promotion of healthy and inclusive lifestyles, we aimed to respond to specific needs identified both locally and at the European level, namely the growing emotional vulnerability of young people, social isolation, poor mental health literacy, and the urgent need to create more humane, conscious, and adapted educational responses to the current reality. The project was based on two main and complementary activities: TC- “MindYourGrowth,” aimed at youth workers, and YE “Move Your Mind,” aimed at young people. Both were strategically designed to maximize the impact on both sides of the educational relationship: professionals and young people themselves. 1. TC In the case of MindYourGrowth, we wanted to empower youth workers with practical tools and essential knowledge to deal with mental health issues in their daily work. This activity had the following specific objectives: -To develop an understanding of the challenges of mental health among young people and among the technicians themselves, promoting early recognition of warning signs and the ability to refer them appropriately; -To foster empathic communication and active listening skills as the basis for healthier educational relationships; -Explore burnout prevention practices and self-care strategies that help professionals maintain emotional balance in the performance of their duties; -Create a peer support network and encourage transnational collaboration between organizations, promoting the exchange of good practices and methodologies; -Promote the use of ENF as an effective approach in the area of youth mental health. This first activity also paved the way for the second, as the technicians involved had the opportunity to reflect on their own practices before accompanying or inspiring young people in the following activities. 2. YE With Move Your Mind, the goal was to work directly with young people, encouraging healthy lifestyles, strengthening self-esteem, and combating social exclusion. Through sport and physical expression, we wanted to provide a safe space where participants could recognize their emotions, work as a team, overcome personal barriers, and build bridges between different cultures. The specific objectives of this YE were: -To encourage physical activity as a tool for promoting and maintaining good mental health; -To raise awareness among young people of the role they play in the social world and in building a more inclusive community; -To develop linguistic, environmental, cultural, and digital skills through participation in a multicultural European project; -To create learning opportunities in contact with nature, reducing digital exposure time and strengthening the mind-body-environment connection; -Combat isolation and promote emotional well-being through belonging to a group, empathy, and sharing experiences. Both activities were guided by participatory, dynamic methodologies based on ENF principles, which ensured the active involvement of all participants, regardless of their origins, abilities, or previous experiences. The pedagogical intent was always present: each game, debate, reflection, or moment of socializing was designed as a learning space with personal and collective impact. It is also important to note that, throughout the process, we wanted to reinforce our organization's mission as an agent promoting inclusion, intercultural dialogue, and the promotion of human rights, in line with the values of the Red Cross and the priorities of the Erasmus+ program. We worked to ensure that this project was not just a one-off event, but rather a starting point for concrete changes in the local contexts of each participant and in the organizations involved.
