It was our intention to address a set of challenges identified in rural communities, namely depopulation, population ageing, and the lack of employment opportunities, which lead to the departure of young people to large urban centres. These phenomena have a direct impact on social cohesion, the sustainability of communities, and the future of new generations. The main objective was to create learning and capacity-building opportunities for young people and youth workers, through non-formal education methodologies, placing them at the centre of the training process and promoting their active participation in community life. By providing international and intercultural experiences in a rural context, we strengthened young people’s motivation to remain connected to their communities, while also encouraging them to become agents of social, economic, and cultural change. More specifically, our objectives were: 1. To empower young people and youth workers; 2. To promote youth entrepreneurship in rural areas; 3. To foster social inclusion; 4. To strengthen European awareness and intercultural dialogue; 5. To reinforce cooperation among partner organisations; 6. To enhance the value of local communities. We offered participants transformative experiences that can translate into positive impacts on their communities and on the organisations involved.
