Objectives

Within the framework of the 2024/25 annual plan, under the Erasmus+ Accreditation, CAIS1515, as coordinator, sought to develop activities that responded to growing challenges related to disinformation, the uncritical consumption of digital content, and the need to strengthen media literacy among young people and professionals working with youth. In a context where much of the information circulates through social networks and digital platforms, it becomes essential to equip young people and youth workers to understand how information is produced, disseminated, and interpreted, as well as to recognize media manipulation, algorithms, and disinformation phenomena. Thus, the annual plan (2024/2025) had the overall objective of strengthening media literacy, critical thinking, and digital citizenship skills among both youth workers and young participants, while simultaneously promoting European cooperation, social inclusion, and intercultural learning. More specifically, the objectives of the project were: O1. To equip youth workers with non-formal education methodologies and tools to address media literacy, disinformation, and digital citizenship with young people. O2. To develop media and digital literacy skills among young people, enabling them to better understand how the media works and to critically analyze the information they consume. O3. To strengthen critical thinking and information verification skills, helping participants identify manipulated content, fake news, and disinformation strategies. O4. To promote responsible digital participation by encouraging conscious behaviour in the production and sharing of online content. O5. To ensure the participation of young people with fewer opportunities, coming from more vulnerable social, geographical, or economic backgrounds. O6. To foster intercultural dialogue and European cooperation by bringing together participants from different countries to share experiences and distinct media realities. To achieve these objectives, the annual plan included 3 main complementary activities: Training Course “CLEAR – Cultivating Literacy, Engaging with Authentic Resources”, aimed at youth workers; Preparatory Visit (APV) to prepare the Youth Exchange; Youth Exchange “VISION – Value Information, Strengthen Insights, Observe News”, aimed at young participants. These activities were designed in an articulated and complementary way, making it possible to address the topic of media literacy at different levels: training youth professionals, pedagogical preparation among partners, and direct learning with young participants.
