With this project, we aimed to empower young people to actively shape their career paths by equipping them with the skills, tools, and confidence needed to navigate today’s labour market. Our main goal was to create a youth-led learning process that reflected the real needs of participants and their sending organisations, especially in the areas of employability, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. Through this youth exchange, we wanted to: - Bring together 28 young people and 4 group leaders from Portugal, Latvia, Germany, and Romania in Figueira da Foz, Portugal (7–15 May 2025), to live and learn together in an inclusive, international setting; - Help participants develop key competences for employability through non-formal learning: communication, teamwork, digital skills, initiative, self-awareness, and intercultural understanding; - Offer practical support for job preparation, including CV and motivation letter writing, interview simulations, and the use of ICT tools for career growth; - Encourage entrepreneurial thinking by helping participants turn ideas into action, take initiative, and plan meaningful next steps; - Promote social inclusion by supporting the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and creating a respectful, empowering environment; - Raise awareness of Erasmus+ and build strategies to inspire other young people - especially those new to international mobility - to join future projects. This project was not written for participants - it was written by them. Before the application, team leaders, youth workers, and 2–3 confirmed participants per country worked together to define its focus. We used internal surveys, questionnaires from partner organisations, and social media outreach to ensure that the project addressed real-life challenges: lack of confidence, barriers to employment, and low awareness of Erasmus+ opportunities. We aimed to achieve personal transformation and community-level impact. The project was designed to be practical, inclusive, future-oriented, and most importantly - led by the needs, energy, and creativity of young people themselves. Project objectives Our objectives were built around the identified needs of our communities and partner organisations. In close cooperation with youth workers, leaders, and participants, we shaped a programme that was relevant, participative, and inclusive. It focused on employability, entrepreneurship, ICT, inclusion, and active citizenship. Main objectives: 1. Increase youth employability through non-formal learning Support participants in identifying strengths, building soft skills, and gaining tools for entering the labour market - including CVs, letters, interviews, and teamwork. 2. Foster entrepreneurial thinking and youth initiative Introduce the basics of entrepreneurship and creative project design, motivating participants to take responsibility and realise personal or social initiatives. 3. Improve digital readiness and ICT use Develop participants’ confidence in using digital tools (e.g. Google Drive, Canva, Telegram) for learning, job applications, and international cooperation. 4. Promote inclusion, solidarity, and access Ensure meaningful participation of young people facing social, financial, or geographical barriers, while fostering a supportive group environment. 5. Raise awareness of Erasmus+ and inspire participation Equip participants with knowledge and tools to promote Erasmus+ among their peers through social media, presentations, and peer engagement. 6. Develop key competences for life and work Strengthen skills such as communication, time management, self-reflection, collaboration, and intercultural understanding. 7. Strengthen cooperation between youth organisations in 4 countries Improve our partner organisations' capacities through teamwork, joint planning, follow-up, and the sharing of tools, methods, and good practices.
