Objectives

By implementing this project we would like to achieve the following objectives: - Capacity building of youth workers by providing them with specific theoretical & practical knowledge and creating opportunities for them to acquire or/and improve their skills and competencies. The project will equip youth workers with a comprehensive understanding of migration issues, including the complexities, challenges, and opportunities associated with migration. Through training and capacity-building activities, the project seeks to enhance the skills and competencies of youth workers in effectively addressing migration-related issues, fostering inclusivity, and promoting diversity within their communities using non-formal education, youth work and activism. - Raising awareness of the local community regarding the current situation when it comes to polarisations and social divides, and advocating the importance of moving towards a more inclusive society, while using results of the PDA to influence a broader audience. Within this objective, the project aims to engage the local community in a meaningful dialogue and awareness-raising activities about migration, challenging stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, and advocating for a more inclusive and welcoming society - therefore fighting populism, divide, and radicalisation. The project will leverage the outcomes and experiences gained during the PDA to disseminate knowledge, promote understanding, and inspire action among a broader audience, including local communities and youth workers and volunteers affiliated with partner organisations. By addressing these objectives, the project aligns closely with the top priority of Erasmus+: Inclusion and Diversity, but also, tackles one of the most urgent issues in Europe nowadays. It seeks to foster enhanced intercultural awareness, promote dialogue that prevents polarisation, encourage active participation in society, and improve all set of competencies among participants and stakeholders involved in youth work practice that will allow them to address the project topics in a more efficient way. There are numerous proofs and research pointing out that youth work can play a crucial role in combating discrimination, raising awareness of the importance of inclusion and in general, fighting for more inclusive societies because much of the work is done first-hand on local levels and it's most critical to focus on young people. Within the consortium, we mapped what each partner organisation needs to be able to do this in a more efficient way and came to the conclusion that their less experienced staff and youth workers are in need of training where they can gain not only knowledge but also improve skills, competencies, and self-confidence to be better prepared to act in their local communities. We identified tools that are easy to use but can make a great impact and created a unique program that informs, inspires and encourages youth workers to continue working on building more inclusive societies.
