The TasteMakers project aimed to empower young people to become active contributors to a more sustainable and resilient food system through green entrepreneurship. The specific objectives were to: Increase knowledge and skills in sustainable and green business planning among youth, young entrepreneurs, and youth workers. Promote sustainable practices within the food industry by providing practical tools, real-life examples, and expert guidance. Strengthen the capacity of partner organisations to support youth entrepreneurship through innovative, non-formal learning approaches. Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among transnational partners working in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and youth development. Create accessible educational resources that could continue to support sustainable entrepreneurship beyond the project’s duration.
The TasteMakers project was developed in response to the growing need to support young people interested in sustainable and green entrepreneurship within the food industry. Across partner countries, young people faced limited access to practical knowledge, mentorship, and structured guidance on how to integrate sustainability principles into viable business models. While interest in environmentally responsible entrepreneurship was increasing, many aspiring entrepreneurs lacked the skills, tools, and real-life examples needed to transform ideas into sustainable ventures. The project addressed these needs by focusing on capacity-building, experiential learning, and mentorship in sustainable food entrepreneurship. It responded to the demand for practical resources, real-world inspiration, and transnational cooperation, enabling young people, youth workers, and young entrepreneurs to develop green skills and adopt sustainable business practices aligned with environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
