The main objective of the DIGIUP project was to equip young people and youth workers with essential competences to navigate and benefit from digital entrepreneurship opportunities in a rapidly evolving labour market. The project aimed to strengthen young people’s entrepreneurial mindset, digital skills, and confidence, enabling them to transform innovative ideas into viable digital initiatives. A key objective was to improve the quality and innovation of youth work by providing youth workers with practical methodologies, tools, and real-life examples to support entrepreneurship education through non-formal learning approaches. By doing so, the project sought to enhance the recognition and effectiveness of youth work in the field of employability and innovation. DIGIUP also aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange at European level by bringing together organisations from different countries to co-create educational resources and share diverse entrepreneurial experiences. Through accessible learning materials, multimedia content, and experiential activities, the project sought to ensure that its results could be adapted and reused beyond the partnership.
The DIGIUP project was developed in response to growing challenges faced by young people in accessing meaningful employment and entrepreneurial opportunities in an increasingly digital labour market. While digital technologies offer new possibilities for innovation and self-employment, many young people lack the practical digital entrepreneurship skills, confidence, and guidance needed to transform ideas into viable initiatives. This gap is particularly visible among young people with limited access to tailored entrepreneurship education and non-formal learning opportunities. At the same time, youth workers and youth organisations often face difficulties in keeping pace with rapid digital transformation. Many lack structured methodologies, practical tools, and real-life examples to effectively support young people interested in digital entrepreneurship. There was therefore a clear need to strengthen the capacity of youth workers while simultaneously empowering young people through accessible, practice-oriented learning experiences. DIGIUP was designed to address these needs by combining real-life entrepreneurial success stories, structured educational resources, capacity-building for youth workers, and experiential learning.
