14 team members were trained through two international courses: 7 in ‘Teaching for the Future – Education for Sustainability’ (It) and 7 in ‘Digital Skills with Cybersecurity – Staff Training for Adult and Senior Education’ (Tr). The EcoSeniorNet Club was made and partnerships were built with the Romanian Police, Bălan City Hall, and Geo Bogza School. Afterwards, seniors in Bălan took part in digital literacy-1to1 and group sessions, clean-up actions, and green community initiatives
Focus for Partnership operates in Balan, Harghita, a disadvantaged area with an aging population after the copper mine closure. We identified a lack of education for sustainability and major difficulties of seniors in using technology. We realized that our organization needed to develop its competences and expertise in order to provide modern and effective learning programs for adults and seniors.
