During the second year of our Erasmus+ Youth Accreditation, our goal remained consistent with the long-term vision of strengthening our organization’s capacity—and that of our partners—to address urgent social and global challenges affecting young people today. Through the Accreditation framework, we aimed to further consolidate a long-term, sustainable approach to youth worker development, while deepening our impact on the communities we serve. Our intention for implementing the Year 2 youth workers mobilities was to continue building a strong foundation of empowered, competent, socially responsible youth workers who can meaningfully contribute to a more just, inclusive and sustainable society. By equipping youth workers with practical methodologies, knowledge and tools in the areas of activism, feminism, democracy, youth participation and human rights, we support the holistic development of young people and foster high-quality youth work practices across Europe. The specific objectives of our Accreditation are: 1- To develop practical competencies of youth workers to address social issues, empower young people to overcome life challenges, and increase their social responsibility. 2- To strengthen the capacity of the youth sector to support the implementation of Agenda 2030, by promoting active global citizenship and engaging young people in sustainability and climate action. 3- To build the capacity of youth work professionals and organizations to create systemic change and influence decision-making processes in the youth field at local, national, and European levels. In Year 2, we implemented four training courses, each designed intentionally to respond to one or more of our accreditation objectives. The 4 courses involved 102 participants from 51 partner organizations, confirming strong engagement and a solid network of cooperating organizations. Mobility 1 – “Action. Activism. Art. We Demand Climate Justice!” Supported Objective 2 primarily, and Objective 1 indirectly. This course strengthened youth workers’ sustainability competencies and their capacity to use direct action and street campaigning methods to raise awareness on climate justice. It contributed to empowering youth workers to mobilize young people around environmental justice, sustainability, and the implementation of Agenda 2030 at community level. Mobility 2 – “Feminism is for Everybody” Mainly contributed to Objective 1, with complementary support to Objective 3. The training focused on equipping youth workers with the knowledge, attitudes and practical tools to mainstream feminist principles, address gender inequalities, challenge harmful norms and stereotypes, and create safer, more inclusive spaces for young people. It also contributed to strengthening organizations’ internal policies and advocacy on gender equality. Mobility 3 – “Engage for Change: Youth Empowerment Training” - Strongly contributed to Objective 3, with direct contribution to Objective 1. This training developed youth workers’ capacities to foster active citizenship, civic participation and democratic engagement among young people. It enhanced competencies related to empowerment, leadership development, political participation, community organizing, and building networks for young activists. Mobility 4 – “Be Aware of Your Rights”- Supported Objective 1 and Objective 3 directly. By training youth workers to become Human Rights Educators, this mobility strengthened their ability to design, facilitate and evaluate educational activities on human rights principles, abuses and protections. It empowered youth workers to raise awareness, advocate for change, and guide young people in defending their rights and those of marginalized groups. Through the implementation of these four mobilities, we achieved: - A significant increase in the professional competencies of youth workers in areas such as climate justice activism, feminist education, civic participation, democracy, and human rights. - A stronger foundation for promoting sustainability, social justice and equality, aligned with Agenda 2030 and with our strategic priorities as an organization. - Strengthened organizational capacity of our partners, through the transfer of knowledge, improved methodologies, and development of common frameworks for action. - Deepened European and international cooperation, reinforcing a network committed to long-term interventions in youth work and systemic change. - Greater empowerment of youth workers as multipliers, able to involve young people as active, critical, engaged and responsible citizens in their communities.
